Roosevelt Student Council
The students of Roosevelt Student Council prepared and presented bullying prevention activities to K-3rd graders over the course of 8 weeks. Here's some of what they had to say after their experience:
“I think teaching the little ones was really fun. We did a puppet show for the kids and stressed the difference between bullying and teasing. After that we played a game of emotion charades which is a game where the little kids come up one by one and they get an emotion written on a card and they have to act like the emotion that they got. After that we sang, ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands.’
I think that the little kids really enjoyed the game of emotion charades and the song at the end. I realized that when you are working with little kids you have to be very patient.”

“All three of us really enjoyed working with the younger kids. One thing that we all learned is when working with younger kids, you have to be very open-minded, not really expecting much from them. Meggan, Carter, and I taught the kids the difference between bullying and teasing. We also taught them the difference between tattling and telling. We enjoyed listening to all the stories they have to share.”
