Safety When Breaking Up With Your Partner
  1. When you break up, make it clear that your decision is FINAL and that the relationship is OVER.

  2. Break up with your partner in a public place.

  3. Tell other people that you plan to break up with your partner. Let them know where you will be.

  4. Arrange to call a friend or a counselor after you talk with your partner so that you can debrief about what happened.

  5. Breakups are dangerous times and you need to continue to be aware of surroundings and continue to keep friends close for awhile after the breakup.
