When should a bystander speak up?

Why is violence prevention so anti-male?

grizzlybear

Violence prevention is so anti-male because males are less likely to take violence.

pollywog
i think that violence prevention seems anti-male because the language we use needs to reflect the reality of violence. men are much more likely to commit acts of violence than women are. additionally, women's victimization and objectification is a deep-rooeted part of our culture. but we do need to address the fact that not all men are violent ... instead of blaming we should empower men to stand against the men who are violent and concurrently create an environment where those behaviors and ideals are unacceptable.

I like what pollywog said.
