Someone labeled gay at school

At my school, there is a kid that everyone thinks is homosexual. He solidly claims that he is not and I feel bad that he has been labeled like he is. What advice would you give him? |

I would tell the boy to ignore the comments, though we all know how words can hurt. Remind him that teens will be teens, and the high school environment in some ways is nothing like the real world - most people aren't so immature and pathetic as to pick on someone else to make themselves feel better. |

even if he was, there shouldn't be people picking on him just because he's different. it's sad some kids think they have to cut others down. just be there for him. |

I think just be there for him no matter what. Always try to help them no matter what other people say. |

I would say to rise above the assumptions & not pay attention to the comments of others. If he seems truthful, people should believe him. Kids tend to give labels to people who seem different. Do you think that's more noticeable in a small school? |
